Refrigerator Cooling Repair
Fridge stuck at 55°F with a full grocery run inside — dead evaporator fan plus an iced-over defrost system. Ice cold the same evening.
Overview
No airflow, no chill
The freezer held at zero but the fresh-food section sat at 55°F — the classic signature of an airflow failure, not a dead compressor. Our probes confirmed it: a seized evaporator fan motor and a defrost heater that had let ice choke the air channels solid.
Both are stocked OEM parts. We steamed the coils clear, fitted a new fan motor and defrost heater, then watched the fresh section pull down to 37°F and cycle normally before signing off — groceries never left the cooler bags long.
